Denise

Ballet

​

Denise trained at the 'Stella Mann School of Dance', graduating from the 3 year Diploma Course and achieving Associate teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern and National Dance. She has since taught dance in London, Greece and Cyprus and has been teaching ballet at the Bearfoot school for 8 years.
As well as dance, Denise is a qualified aerobics and fitness instructor and also works as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school.
Denise has a particular passion for teaching the younger age groups, installing and cultivating their self confidence, enjoyment and love of dance.

Rachel Johns

Principal

Rachel has danced since the tender age of 3.

Studying and taking exams with the ISTD in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz and National Dance.

At 16 she became an assistant and found her love of teaching.

A few years later, Rachel would start her professional training at Performers College, graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre. Whilst there she studied for her ISTD teaching qualifications and gained her DDI in Modern Theatre Dance.

Rachel has 10 years of teaching experience in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre and as of this year is a qualified Acrobatic Dance teacher with the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus.

Through careful teaching we aim to:

  • Encourage a friendly, supportive environment for the pupils, the families and staff.

  • Give the pupil the opportunity to develop his/her skills and perceptions of the Arts.

  • Encourage the pupil to understand him/herself as part of a supportive team.

  • Foster, maintain and intensify the pupil’s individual talents, however advanced they may be. Whatever the pupil’s ability, we praise sincere effort.

  • Offer accredited examinations.

  • Provide stimulating, structured classes which also allow for controlled, creative chaos where appropriate.

  • Offer the emerging dancer, actor and singer the care and attention required to nurture talent and the technical know-how to develop skills

  • Create an environment for Fun and Friendship with other group members.

  • Provide opportunities for the whole age range to be directly involved in presentations and performance.

Iona Brie

Contemporary

​

Iona began her training at Lucy Ford's Finch School of Dancing at the age of 4. She then went on to Bodywork Dance Studios and graduated with a Professional Dance Diploma. Since then she has worked with artists such as Tinie Tempah, Katy B, Nimmo and Plan B. She worked on the ASOSxADIDAS campaign as well as performing in the BalmainxH&M commercial and runway show in New York. Iona performed in Boy Blue Ent piece for Artists 4 Artists, and has gone on to join the company. A long standing member of contemporary company Chrysalis London, she became Associate Choreographer this year.

Kate Soulsby

Acting  

LAMDA Exams

Kate began her professional training at Sage Academy of Performing Arts, studying Musical Theatre and completing Gold, Silver and Bronze Solo Acting LAMDA exams. She then furthered her training at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where she studied Acting for Stage and Screen.
Since graduating, Kate has appeared in various independent feature films, short films, adverts, theatre productions and music videos. 
Kate has over 5 years experience in teaching drama and entering students into LAMDA examinations. 

Sean Moon

Resident

Choreographer

​

Sean Moon trained at Sage Academy of Performing Arts. Since then he has worked internationally as a dancer in film, on stage, live TV and commercials including; The Voice, Jason Bourne, Lip Sync Battle, Cuban Fury,Rolling Stones. Sean is now gaining reputation as a choreographer working on the UK, Irish and French versions of 'Strictly Come Dancing' as well as 

choreographing various events throughout London and the UK.

Beth Compson-
Bradford

Singing

​

Beth is an experienced and fully-qualified Vocal Coach and Performer, specialising in Pop, Jazz and Musical Theatre. She has 10 years worth of performance experience under her belt and has performed across the UK and on the West End. She has experience teaching all ages and abilities, working with beginners to chart topping vocalists (Stefflon Don, RAYE, Later...with Jools Holland). So whether its getting ready for drama school auditions or a life on the stage, improving vocal technique or just building confidence, she is happy to help!

Dani Berg

Dance

​

Dani has been a Bearfoot family member almost all her life, beginning her training with us when she was a young girl. She then continued her performance studies at Bird College and completed her training at Margaret Howard Theatre College. Dani is a qualified Dance Teacher with the ISTD in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and Street Dance in the styles of Popping, Locking and Breaking. Dani has been teaching at Bearfoot for 6 years, she choreographs for our shows and exams, and her classes are fun filled and always upbeat!
